Love in Action Ministries is a Christian evangelism group. Our mission is to make RADICAL Christianity normal by simply showing the language of love to the community!
The heart of Love in Action is based off of Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus replied: " ' Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ' Love your neighbor as yourself.'
By following these commandments we are able to move past any hindrances that restrict the Church from stepping out in faith to share the message of Jesus Christ.
Love in Action also uses "The Five Love Languages" as a guide to help direct and improve on the way we love on the community. We recognize through this book that we all give and receive love in different ways. This book describes these ways of giving and receiving love as acts of service, quality time, gift giving, words of affirmation, and physical touch.
Love in Action is compiled of significant prayer geared towards those who have not received the gift of salvation and for the Church to grow in making evangelism part of their normal everyday lives, evangelism training, and evangelism outreaches.
Business Meeting Report
2018 has been a year of trial and error for the Love in Action Ministries team along with new hellos and unfortunate goodbyes. We started out the year with a valentine’s day outreach ministering to the youth at Eastpointe High School giving a bold statement about the gospel message. The Bible studies and fellowship with our friends at the assisted living facility were a popular avenue for our church to reach out to the community. Headed up by Linda Kelly, the ministry was shaped and molded into what came to be a wonderful outpouring of Gods love though his people. Unfortunately, the ministry ended due to circumstances that were out of our control. We continue to think about and pray for the individuals of Carters Assisted Living Facility regardless of the circumstances. Love in Action implemented an evangelism training course that challenged our personal reservations about how we share the gospel message and prepared us for a new way of loving our community. For the second year we participated in the Memorial Day parade, giving out Bibles, prayer, water and chips to attendees of this event. We ventured out into the “scary” world of street ministry which then resulted in the extremely popular bus stop ministry being formed. Of all Love in Action has accomplished this past year what I am most proud of is the increased focus on scheduled, corporate prayer. The vast difference in the ministry when we participate in corporate prayer and seeking God is undeniable. Moving forward into 2019 this focus will only become greater. The mission of Love in Action Ministries is to “Make radical Christianity normal by simply showing the language of love to our community.” This year we have had an influx of participation from the Church which in my eyes has resulted in accomplishing this mission more so than we have previously. Thank you so much to all who have participated. My prayer is that not only will you be used by God to change others lives but also that your life will be forever changed by this ministry as well. I look forward to continuing in a kingdom mindset with you all.
